Caius is an External Service Provider within FIERCE, an EU-funded initiative helping SMEs turn satellite data and downstream space technologies into practical green solutions! The programme supports businesses in improving resource efficiency, environmental monitoring and circular practices by funding specialised external services. Its Second Open Call offers up to €50,000 per beneficiary, with support covering ideation, scale-up and commercialisation activities. Applications are open until 9 November 2026 at 17:00 CET. Through its participation, Caius helps businesses connect this funding opportunity with the technical expertise needed to develop and implement solutions with a positive environmental impact.
Caius supports businesses with satellite data analysis, geospatial artificial intelligence and tailored digital tools for agriculture, tourism, environmental management and rural infrastructure. Its services range from feasibility studies and proof-of-concept development to pilot implementation, minimum viable product development and system integration. Specific capabilities include trail mapping, grazing capacity assessments, livestock route planning, environmental analytics and natural disaster risk modelling. By combining satellite observations with local data and cloud-based systems, Caius helps organisations turn complex information into practical tools for decision-making. Support can also extend to business planning, partnership development and defining indicators to evaluate a solution’s performance!
Caius has already undertaken a project as an External Service Provider concerning a smart digital solution for free-range livestock farming in Pogoni, Epirus. The work combines satellite analysis with digital tools to support a better understanding of the landscapes and environmental conditions in which livestock farming takes place. This initiative brings space-enabled innovation closer to the practical needs of rural producers, reflecting Caius’s commitment to developing technology grounded in local challenges. Further details about the project, its approach and its intended benefits for livestock farmers will be presented in an upcoming article!
