Meeting with Secretary General of Forests of the Ministry of Environment and Energy
In the light of the vision of the General Secretariat of Forests for the 'smart', sustainable forest of the future with the help of technology and the practical implementation of innovative ideas and solutions, which were awarded in the Smart Forest Innovation Challenge, we met with Prof. Konstantinos Aravosis, the Secretary General of Forests of the Ministry of Environment and Energy. The meeting intended to identify the most appropriate ways of integrating the innovative services of Caius into the arsenal of protection and promotion, through valorisation, of the country's forest ecosystems.
CEO of Caius, George Mendrinos, presented to Prof. Konstantinos Aravosis and the members of the new General Secretariat of Forests the progress that Caius has made on diziting forest areas around Greece.
The establishment of the new General Secretariat of Forests, and the corresponding position of Secretary General in the Ministry of Environment and Energy, is a flagship reform and confirms the political will of the Government to protect forest ecosystems.
The essential objective of the General Secretariat is the protection, promotion and development of our country's forest ecosystems, in order to make Greek forests "smart" and truly sustainable, applying modern scientific knowledge and technological achievements for their protection and certified sustainable management, as well as their utilization as sources of national wealth.
