With the awarding ceremony of 10 new innovative companies, the 14th consecutive "Innovation & Technology" Competition, organized by the National Bank of Greece as part of the NBG Business Seeds program, came to a close. The program aims to encourage and support innovative and outward-looking entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on Fintech, ESG, and finance-related technologies (e.g., AI/Gen AI/Blockchain).
The "Celebration of Innovation" took place on the evening of July 9th at the Melas Building of the National Bank of Greece, in the presence of the Minister of Digital Governance, Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou, young entrepreneurs, representatives of the business world, and University Rectors.
After three highly competitive rounds of judging, with an initial participation of nearly 467 individuals and teams, submitting 280 proposals, Caius, presenting its flagship product "caius paths," managed to be recognized as one of the top 10 startups in the competition. They received praise for their expertise and the intensification of their efforts around environmental protection and the promotion of ecotourism, as well as for establishing international collaborations with stakeholders from the research and industrial sectors.
The NBG Business Seeds Innovation & Technology Competition is the longest-running and largest competition for startups in Greece, promoting innovation. Over 8,223 participants and 4,792 proposals have been evaluated since its launch, with this year's 14th edition seeing one of the highest numbers of applicants. The competition offers mentoring, networking, and partnerships with universities and tech companies. It focuses on boosting entrepreneurship and supporting innovative ideas, making it a key event in the Greek startup ecosystem.
