Caius paskou, our upcoming AI application, was awarded by the EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) and Cassini Challenges as one of the top innovative ideas for 2024 that leverage EU space data! Our app aims to empower free-range livestock farmers and nomadic herders by providing them with continuous, economical and accurate information on the specific locations of pastures with ideal grazing conditions, as well as protected and overgrazed areas, thus ensuring the sustainability of livestock farming and its harmonious coexistence and evolution with the environment!
The European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) contributes to the European Green Deal and digital transition, enhances Union safety and security, and strengthens autonomy and resilience. In particular, the objective of the Cassini Challenges competition was to support the development of innovative commercial solutions - such as mobile apps or hardware-based solutions - that are leveraging EU Space data from Galileo and/or Copernicus.
In caius paskou, Galileo data are used to track herds and dynamically calculate optimal routes for shepherds, while continuous updates on pasture conditions are sourced from Copernicus, enabling sustainable, easy and precise decision-making! We're incredibly grateful for this opportunity to bring our vision to life and to contribute to the advancement of preservance of protected and overgrazing areas, while making free-range grazing as efficient as possible by modernizing it while respecting its traditions.
