The Apps4Athens Hackathon for digital transformation in the Municipality of Athens was successfully held on March 30-31, 2024, at the Serafio of the Municipality of Athens. This event attracted teams and startups from Greece and abroad, including developers, researchers, students, professionals, and business executives. It aimed to foster collaboration and innovation for a sustainable, green, and humane city.
Caius supported social innovation and the development of advanced applications, having been invited as mentors by the organizers to assist the teams in shaping and advancing their ideas to enhance the Municipality's participatory strategy, solve problems, and improve citizens' quality of life. Our engagement focused primarily on guiding the enthusiastic teams to evolve their concepts from research projects into competitive products, contributing both to their technological advancement and the realistic business development of their ideas.
In less than 30 hours, participants developed their applications and proposals. On Sunday, March 31, the 39 teams that completed their applications presented their results. The hackathon saw over 200 competitors, 60 teams, and 40 mentors who guided and supported the teams in refining and advancing their ideas.
